I originally created the logo and visual style for this biennial event in 2013, and used it again (with slight variations) the following years. For 2019, I was inspired by neon lights, and wanted to bring a fresh and more fun energy to the branding the event.

About an hour outside Florence is the beautiful town of Lucca, known for its wide, medieval-era surrounding wall. Originally built as a military fortification, now the wall is just for looks. Its continued existence over the years has meant that the city inside has remained mostly untouched by time.
Late in the afternoon of our visit, we set out on the pedestrian promenade that runs the length of the wall. It was a perfect place to watch the sun set – the city skyline in front of us, fractured glimpses of streets, courtyards and gardens below.
The few hours we spent here were definitely not enough.
